14 Moldovan communities want to become more Age friendly

25 members of the Age-Friendly Steering Committees from 14 localities of Şoldăneşti, Rezina and Sîngerei rayons have participated in the training on “Community Development through Social Consensus”, which took place on May 15 and 16.

The training has been organized by the NGO „CASMED” for Chairmen and Deputy Chairmen of the Age-Friendly Steering Committees, which aim at promoting the Age Friendly Community concept in their localities.

The participants have been familiarized with the concept and notion of community development, discussing the importance of leadership for the society’s progress and the difference between a leader and a boss.

“Team and Fellowship” module  has been part of the programm and the participants had the task to develop an action plan to develop and strengthen their teams.

Also, the participants have learned about best practices of other steering committees, and the most effective methods and tools to promote these experiences.

Starting with 2018, CASMED has supported the creation of 14 Age-Friendly Steering Committees in order to develop coordinated collaboration between public administration and community actors.

The activity took place in the context of the project “Aging and Health”, implemented with the financial support of the Swiss Red Cross.
